Weather Plan for the Festival
In the event of rain, the Nashville Cherry Blossom will go on as planned. Safety for our festival patrons and volunteers is top priority.
Festival officials and security personnel will monitor the National Weather Service constantly throughout the day to determine if an evacuation order may be required due to threats beyond precipitation.
In case of severe weather
Festival officials and security personnel will monitor the National Weather Service constantly throughout the day to determine if an evacuation order may be required due to threats beyond precipitation.
In case of severe weather
- From the Main Stage, clear instructions will be issued to Festival patrons to take shelter in Metro Courthouse Parking Garage or the nearest parking garage in the area.
- The Metro Courthouse Parking Garage is accessible from all four corners of the Festival grounds. Festival area chairpersons will also communicate to vendors in their area that a threat is imminent.
- NCBF will push notifications via social media.
- Festival patrons are requested to take note of emergency shelter parking garages upon arrival at the Festival.
- Upon reaching the event, please take a moment to look around and figure out where and how you will get to shelter in case of dangerous weather. This could be a sturdy building or a lower, covered, sheltered concourse in a parking garage or hotel nearby.
- Turn on your smartphone weather app alerts so you can also check the latest radar loop to see if storms are moving in.
- Watch for darkening clouds, increasing winds, distant lightning and listen for thunder. Trust your intuition and move to your place of shelter before you get caught out in the open in the storm.
